Samples (long and hard noodles) have been pre comminuted by hand previously to < 2 cm length. Complete sample amount has been fed and got ground within 30 seconds.
After grinding, rotor and sieve rind are only lightly polluted. Even higher amounts of sample can be ground this way.
Usually, sample which got ground with Variable Speed Rotor Mill PULVERISETTE 14 will show a mean size which uses to be smaller as half of the size of the trapezoidal openings of the used sieve ring. With a 0,25 mm trapezoidal perforated sieve ring, we are guessing that ground sample will show a d50 < 125 µm.

Also a pre crushing is possible to only < 3 cm size. Grinding worked equally and showed similar result.
Longer particles can stay inside the feeding funnel without falling into the grinding chamber. Then these long fragments of noodles can be removed from the feeding funnel after the grinding process, they will need to be comminuted a little finer and can be fed a second time.
