For this kilogram of sample, it took about 5 ½ minutes until the complete sample has been ground.
Because sample just needs to be ground to < 300 µm (gap setting) to pass the grinding disks gap, longer particles are expected to be found. We are guessing that with the gap setting we chose, about 500 µm particles might be found.
To check the present fineness after grinding, we sieved an aliquot of 20 g with our Vibratory Sieve Shaker ANALYSETTE 3 Pro and a test sieve of 500 µm mesh. Already 95 % of sample use to be smaller as 500 µm.
It is still possible to grind the sample with a narrower gap setting to achieve 100 % < 500 µm.
Because no sample use to stick between the grinding disks gap, a grinding of higher amounts should be possible.
