We recommend using the Planetary Mono Mill PULVERISETTE 6 classic line. A grinding to the desired fineness is only possible by grinding in suspension (see result 3). |

Just 10g of sample can be ground to < 200µm before all openings of the used sieve ring use to be blocked with sample.
A grinding of higher amounts is not possible. |

Just after the first minute of dry grinding, sample use to stick stronger to bowl and balls.
Sample use to be ground to only < 150µm. Desired endfineness of d90 < 25µm cannot be achieved in dry grinding. A grinding in suspension is required (see following trial)

Only a grinding in suspension use to be capable, grinding the desired amount of sample to d90 < 25µm. It is recommended grinding with motor oil like slurries to achieve fastest grinding results with less abrasion. For this, we added about 90ml of ethanol (EtOH).
To avoid overpressure, we ground the sample in steps of 5 minutes, followed by a programmed pausing time of 10 minutes. After several cycles, the outside temperature of the bowl should be checked (remain below 70°C); grinding time or programmed pausing time might be readjusted afterwards.
After 30 minutes of grinding, the fineness has been checked with our Laser Particle Sizer ANALYSETTE 22 MicroTec. The desired fineness has been reached.
As desired, Al2O3 has been used for grinding. This sintered material use to produce more abrasion on bowl and balls as other materials might do.
