The ruby sample was comminuted with result one. We used 2,1 grams of sample and fed the sample into our 10 ml zirconium oxide bowl. For the up to ~ 3 mm long fragments, we recommend using one grinding bowl of 15 mm diameter. Steel equipment is not recommended, because metal abrasion tends to discolorate mineral samples rapidly.
The sample was ground at maximum speed setting (50 Hz) for first two minutes. The sample was ground to a fine powder, but no sticking of sample was observed to that moment.
We proceeded grinding for a total grinding time of five minutes. Still no sticking of sample was observed. The fineness of the ruby sample does not seem to change significantly and we aborted the grinding trial at this point. The sample was brushed out best possible and was packed. Intensive cleaning was performed by comminution of sand and water for about two minutes.

Even after five minutes of dry grinding, the sample wasn’t sticking at this moment.
