crushing jaws made of hardmetal tungsten carbide (WC)
Feed quantity:
app. 75 g
Feed Size:
Ø 5 cm
Grinding time:
< 1 min
Final fineness:
precrushed < 2 cm
Comments:
With a gap position 3.0, a first pre grinding step has been realized. Such pre ground sample might get ground to < 10 mm as desired in gap position 1.0 (see result 2).
We are expecting that a direct grinding with smallest gap position will consumption more time as a stepwise grinding.
The complete lump of metal has been ground within 60 seconds. Lateral support walls and crushing jaws use to free of residues; even higher amounts of sample can be ground this way.

Final fineness:

Comments:
Pre ground sample from result 1 has been used for this trail.
The total sample amount has been ground within 1 minute. Crushing jaws and lateral support walls are free of residues; a grinding of higher amounts is still possible.
The majority of ground particles use to show a length of ~ 8 mm. Only a few particles can be found with a maximum length of ~ 10 mm. The thickness of ground particles use to be around 4 mm and finer.
This cast iron sample use to be very brittle. For a daily grinding of such small amounts, also a Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 might be capable to achieve much finer results (with smaller gap settings) if desired.
