Solid alternative fuel

After 15 seconds of grinding, about 9,7 g of sample has been found inside of the collecting vessel. The output rose to 10,7 g after 30 seconds. We stopped the grinding after a total grinding time of 60 seconds with an output of 11,3 g.

About 2-3 g of sample use to remain loose inside of the grinding chamber and can be removed by vacuuming with a soft brush. This uses to be typical result for electrostatic attached plastic samples like this.

Sieve cassette and rotor are almost free of residues; even higher amounts can be ground.

Also a Cutting Mill PULVERISETTE 15 can be used for a grinding of sample, just like with result 1, output use to rise constantly. We aborted the grinding process after 2 minutes with a total output of ~ 11 g.

The grinding result appears to be equal to result 1.

By longer operation, the output might rise a little higher. Residues inside of the grinding chamber can be removed easily by vacuuming with a soft brush.

With Cutting Mill PULVERISETTE 15, only rotors with straight cutting edges use to be available.

If the sample can contain bigger particles made of hard plastic, or possibly might contain some metal fragments (springs, wires, etc.) we recommend using the PULVERISETTE 19 with a rotor with knives made of hardmetal tungsten carbide for a much longer durability.
