We recommend using a Planetary Mill like Planetary Mono Mill PULVERISETTE 6 classic line. For a better endfineness, also Planetary Micro Mill PULVERISETTE 7 premium line can be used for grinding.
80 ml grinding bowl made of zirconium oxide (ZrO2)
+110g of 1 mm Ø ZrO2 grinding balls
Feed quantity:
5 g
Feed Size:
<30 µm
Additive:
+ 30ml water
Grinding time:
120 min
Final fineness:
d50<0,5 µm
Comments:
To avoid overpressure, we ground the sample in steps of 5 minutes, followed by a programmed pausing time of 10 minutes. After several cycles, the outside temperature of the bowl should be checked (remain below 80°C); grinding time or programmed pausing time might be readjusted afterwards.
Fineness has been checked with our Laser Particle Sizer ANALYSETTE 22 NanoTec.
Result after 30min: d50<1,3µm ; d90<2,9µm
Result after 60min: d50<0,75µm ; d90<2,1µm
Result after 120min: d50 < 0,5µm; d90 < 1,5µm
Desired endfineness has been reached after a total grinding time of 120 minutes.
A better endfineness can be achieved by grinding the sample with the Planetary Micro Mill PULVERISETTE 7 premium line (with up to 1100 rpm).
