*1: In average, about 10g use to fit into the 80ml bowl for grinding into nano range. Therefore, we used an 80ml bowl for this sample as well.
*2: For avoiding overpressure, we grinded in steps of 3 minutes followed by a programmed pausing time of 10 minutes. A shorten of the programmed pausing time is possible as long as the outside of the bowl remains <70°C. This applies to all further grinding trials.
*3: Because of the low amount of sample we determined the fineness with our optical microscope (see additional photo).

*1: After 2 hours of grinding, we determined a d90 < 430nm, a d50 < 200nm and a d10 < 92nm. By using the proper MIE parameters, a different value might occur.
After 4 hours of grinding, no better fineness was determined. The grinding was aborted.
*2: Because of the missing MIE-Parameters, a better fineness after 2hours of grinding was not detected. Therefore, we aborted after 4 hours of grinding.
See our particle size analysis after 2 hours of grinding with our ANALYSETTE 22 NanoTec, Meas. No. 9845 on separate page.

Only a minimal grinding success occurs with 2mm balls. Therefore, the balls need to be changed to 0,1mm balls (see trial 2b). |

*1: Usually, the volume of sample starts to rise during grinding (by more specific surface). In this case, a rising of volume was not observed.
*2: Because of the missing rising of volume, the sample was checked by optical microscopy after 2 hours of grinding. It has shown that the sample starts to reagglomerate during grinding.
*3: see additional photo. |
