The soil sample contains stones up to 4mm length; pieces of leaves < 2mm thick and root pieces with a maximum length of 8 mm.
Feed quantity:
100 g
Feed Size:
< 8 mm
Grinding time:
10 min
Final fineness:
99,2% <125 µm
Comments:
After 10 minutes of dry grinding, sample has been ground to a fine powder.
An aliquot of 15 g of sample has been picked for sieving with our Vibratory Sieve Shaker ANALYSETTE 3 Pro. Only a few root pieces which weight only 0,1 g. For this, a fineness of 99,2 % < 125 µm use to be present.
Because sample did not start sticking to bowl or grinding balls, a longer dry grinding is still possible to achieve a better grinding result.
We recommend using zirconium oxide instead of agate for grinding. We are guessing that small leave and root pieces might get ground way faster with the material of higher density.
