*2: There is no further grinding success between 15 and 20min. Therefore, we switch to 2mm balls for advanced grinding (trial 1b). We used to grind in 5min steps with a 20min pausing time to avoid overpressure.

*1: After 20min of grinding with the 10mm balls, there has not been any further grinding success (compared to 15min). Therefore, we switched to 2mm balls and grinded for further 45min (effective: 60min). After 60min, there is no further grinding success compared to the grinding for 45min. As a result, we stopped grinding. We used to grind in 5min steps with a 20min pausing time to avoid overpressure.
*2: See result after 60min with Laser-Particle-Sizer ANALYSETTE 22-NanoTec, Meas.No. 7867 on separate page.
Because of the light impreciseness of the Fraunhofer calculation model <1µm and the missing MIE-parameters , the real fineness should be a little finer as in our report. |

*1: After 2h of grinding, we received the same result as we got after 1h of grinding. Therefore, 1h with 5mm balls is grinded to the max fineness. A longer grinding as 1h is not recommended. We used to grind in 5min steps with a 20min pausing time to avoid overpressure.

It is possible that some of the containing particles can be pressed until they become flat before they will come apart. Probably some of the containing particles are so hard that they will become grinded with even 1000 times bigger balls. Probably tungsten carbide (WC) might be able to grind that sample. |
