After previous embrittlement, both samples can be ground to < 4 mm by using a Universal Cutting Mill PULVERISETTE 19. |

After 15 seconds, the complete sample has been ground to < 8 mm successfully. A further test with these < 8 mm big particles with a 6 mm sieve cassette leaded to a melting of particles inside the grinding chamber. A grinding to < 6 mm is not possible this way. An embrittlement as mentioned in the filled questionnaire is required indeed. For this, also the cheaper Universal Cutting Mill PULVERISETTE 19 can be used (see result 2 and 3).

With the standard funnel, max. sample diameter should be < 3 cm. The complete sample amount has been placed inside liquid nitrogen until it got embrittled. Afterwards, pieces had been fed within 105 seconds. The openings of the used sieve cassette remained free of particles, so even higher amounts of sample can be ground this way.
Small electrostatic charged particles which remained inside the grinding chamber could be removed easily by vacuuming with a soft brush.

Also the foil like sample has been ground similar. The sample got rumbled and placed into liquid nitrogen for embrittlement. Afterwards, the pieces got fed within 180 seconds.
Like sample 1, only a few particles remain inside the grinding chamber by electrostatic charge. A grinding of higher amounts of sample is possible this way.
