Even with low feeding rate (44g of sample within 5 minutes), sample use to start sticking between the two grinding disks. The space of 0,3 mm which has been set in the beginning of the grinding process became smaller by the sample which will be left between the grinding disks.
Probably 50-60 g of sample might be ground before the gap will be closed completely with sample.
A grinding of higher amounts (1,5 kg as desired) is not possible.
standard rotor with V-cutting edges and fixed knives made of tool steel
+ sieve cassette 0,5 mm
+ sample exhauster system with cyclone separator
Feed quantity:
1,5 kg
Feed Size:
15 x 3 mm
Grinding time:
30 min
Final fineness:
< 500 µm
Comments:
With the optional sample exhauster system with cyclone separator, sample became chilled by the constant airflow of ~ 2800 L/min. Also fine ground sample which is able to pass the sieve cassettes openings will be removed directly.
It takes about 30 minutes until the desired amount of sample has been ground.
The used 500 µm sieve cassette is partly closed with sample afterwards. Vacuuming with a soft brush (or using a wired brush) is recommended to remove residues out of the sieve cassette.
