Total grinding time might be lower by stepwise grinding. For this, a pre grinding with coarse gap setting has been performed in this trial.
The complete sample has been ground within 3 minutes. Afterwards, the max. length of particles use to be < 2,5 cm.
In result 2, fine grinding will be performed. |

After a first pre grinding step with gap position 5,0, pre ground sample will be fine ground with this trail. It took about 3 minutes until the complete amount of sample has been ground to < 8 mm.
Desired target of a fineness of < 8 mm has been achieved.
By choosing changed geometry, sample can be ground a little finer, but the output will slow down immensely.
It is also possible to combine Jaw Crusher PULVERISETTE 1 Model I and Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 for a continuous fine grinding of sample. In this case, Jaw Crusher PULVERISETTE 1 will be used to comminute the sample to < 2 cm . Afterwards, the pre ground sample will fall directly into the Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 which is able to grind samples with a gap of 0,1 mm (depending on the sample, up to 300-400 µm long particles will be received).
