rotor with V-cutting edges and fixed knives made of hardmetal tungsten carbide (WC)
+ sieve cassette: 1 mm trapezoidal perforation made of stainless steel
Feed quantity:
42 g
Feed Size:
15 cm long
Grinding time:
2 minutes
Final fineness:
< 1 mm
Comments:
After one minute of grinding, the sound is significantly reduced. Majority of sample should be ground already. We interrupted the grinding process after 2 minutes and found that only a small amount of electrostatic charged sample use to remain inside the grinding chamber.
To achieve an output of 42 gram, we recommend using about 47 gram of sample.
Charged particles inside the grinding chamber can be removed rapidly by vacuuming with a soft brush.
Majority of openings remain free, even higher amounts of sample can be ground this way. It is also possible to choose a sieve cassette with smaller openings for a finer grinding result.
For a daily grinding of PET samples, we recommend using a rotor with knives made of hardmetal tungsten carbide for a much longer durability.
